Sañjaya’s Report
अग्निं समिद्धं शमयेद् भुजाभ्यां चन्द्र च सूर्य च निवारयेत । हरेद् देवानाममृतं प्रसहा युद्धेन यो वासुदेवं जिगीषेत्
sañjaya uvāca | agniṁ samiddhaṁ śamayed bhujābhyāṁ candraṁ ca sūryaṁ ca nivārayet | hared devānām amṛtaṁ prasahya yuddhena yo vāsudevaṁ jigīṣet ||
Wika ni Sañjaya: Ang sinumang nagnanais na daigin si Vāsudeva (Kṛṣṇa) sa pamamagitan ng digmaan ay sumusubok sa imposible—parang papatayin ang naglalagablab na apoy gamit ang hubad na mga bisig, pipigilin ang paglalakbay ng Buwan at Araw, at aagawin sa dahas ang amṛta, ang nektar ng kawalang-kamatayan ng mga diyos. Hindi lamang ito pagkakamaling pang-estratehiya; ito’y paghamon sa kaayusan ng sansinukob, kaya’t hindi magtatagumpay.
