Adhyaya 32: Saṃjaya’s Return, Audience with Dhṛtarāṣṭra, and Ethical Admonition

नाप्राप्यमभिवाउछन्ति नष्ट नेच्छन्ति शोचितुम्‌ । आपत्सु च न मुहान्ति नरा: पण्डितबुद्धय:,पण्डितोंकी-सी बुद्धि रखनेवाले मनुष्य दुर्लभ वस्तुकी कामना नहीं करते, खोयी हुई वस्तुके विषयमें शोक करना नहीं चाहते और विपत्तिमें पड़कर घबराते नहीं हैं

nāprāpyam abhivāñchanti naṣṭaṁ necchanti śocitum | āpatsu ca na muhyanti narāḥ paṇḍitabuddhayaḥ ||

Sabi ni Vidura: Ang taong may matalinong pag-unawa ay hindi naghahangad ng hindi makakamit; hindi niya ninanais na magluksa sa nawala; at kapag dumarating ang kapahamakan, hindi siya nawawalan ng panatag na loob. Ang talatang ito, bilang payong pampatatag ng naguguluhang isip, ay pumupuri sa praktikal na karunungan—pagnanais na pinipigil ng realidad, dalamhating sinasawata ng pag-unawa, at tapang na pinananatili sa gitna ng pagsubok.
