उद्योगपर्व (अध्याय १२९) — केशवस्य वैभवप्रदर्शनम् / Krishna’s Theophanic Display in the Kuru Assembly
आसाद्य न भविष्यन्ति पतड़ा इव पावकम् | 'सुननेमें आया है कि वे सब संगठित होकर इन पुरुषसिंह कमलनयन श्रीकृष्णको तिरस्कृत करके हठपूर्वक कैद करना चाहते हैं। ये भगवान् कृष्ण इन्द्रके छोटे भाई और दुर्धर्ष वीर हैं। इन्हें कोई भी पकड़ नहीं सकता। इनके पास आकर सभी विरोधी जलती आगमें गिरनेवाले फतिंगोंके समान नष्ट हो जायँगे ।। १९-२० है ।। अयमिच्छन् हि तान् सर्वान् युध्यमानाज्जनार्दन:
vaiśampāyana uvāca | āsādya na bhaviṣyanti pataṅgā iva pāvakam | ayam icchan hi tān sarvān yudhyamānāj janārdanaḥ ||
Sinabi ni Vaiśampāyana: Kapag lumapit sila sa kanya, hindi sila makaliligtas—gaya ng mga gamu-gamo na sumusuong sa naglalagablab na apoy. Sapagkat si Janārdana (Kṛṣṇa), kahit nasa gitna ng labanan, ay handang harapin silang lahat; ang sinumang sa katigasan ng ulo at paghamak ay magtangkang dumakip sa kanya, ay siya ring nagmamadali sa sariling kapahamakan.
