भुक्तवत्सु द्विजेन्द्रेष यथावत् सम्प्रदापयेत् । वाचकं भरतश्रेष्ठ भोजयित्वा स्वलंकृतम्
bhuktavatsu dvijendreṣu yathāvat sampradāpayet | vācakaṃ bharataśreṣṭha bhojayitvā svalakṛtam, bharatabhūṣaṇa |
Wika ni Vaiśampāyana: “Kapag nakapagtapos nang kumain ang mga pinakadakilang Brāhmaṇa, dapat silang bigyan ng angkop na kaloob ayon sa wastong paraan. Pagkaraan, O pinakamahusay sa mga Bharata, matapos parangalan ang tagapagbigkas—na pinalamutian ng kasuotan at alahas—pakainin siya ng mainam na pagkain; at pagkatapos nito, nararapat na siya’y pasayahin sa pamamagitan ng mga handog at paggalang.”
वैशम्पायन उवाच
After a sacred recitation concludes, dharma requires gratitude expressed through proper hospitality: first feed the learned Brahmins, then give them suitable gifts; also honor the reciter with adornment, good food, and respectful donations.
Vaiśampāyana describes the correct concluding conduct after the completion of a full sacred narration (kathā): the audience/host should complete the rite by feeding Brahmins, giving them appropriate dāna, and then specially honoring and rewarding the vācaka (reciter).
