एष मे निश्चय: साधो कृतं कारणमुनत्तमम् । आमन्त्रयामि भद्र ते कृतार्थोडस्मि भुजजड्रम
eṣa me niścayaḥ sādho kṛtaṃ kāraṇam uttamam | āmantrayāmi bhadra te kṛtārtho ’smi bhujaṅgama mahātman ||
Wika ng Brahmana: “Ito ang aking tiyak na pasya, O mabuting ginoo. Natupad na ang layon—at sa pinakamainam na paraan. Ngayon ay nagpapaalam na ako sa iyo; nawa’y mapasa iyo ang kabutihan. O dakilang ahas, marangal ang loob! Natamo ko na ang aking hangarin; hinihiling ko ang iyong pahintulot na lumisan.”
ब्राह्मण उवाच
The verse highlights ethical speech and conduct: once one’s purpose is fulfilled, one should express gratitude, offer auspicious wishes, and seek leave respectfully—showing humility and propriety even toward a non-human being.
A brāhmaṇa addresses a serpent who has helped accomplish his objective. Declaring his resolve satisfied and his task completed, he blesses the serpent and formally asks permission to depart.
