The verse affirms that discourse rooted in Nārāyaṇa’s sacred narrative is the essence of the teaching, and it identifies Nārāyaṇa as the supreme sovereign who generates and sustains the inner self of all beings—grounding ethics and dharma in devotion to the highest Lord.
Janamejaya addresses a revered ascetic (taponidhi), acknowledging that the sage’s exposition—centered on Nārāyaṇa—captures the heart of the text, and he summarizes Nārāyaṇa’s status as the Lord of all and the source of all beings.
