इसलिये मानसिक दु:खको बुद्धिके द्वारा विचारसे और शारीरिक कष्टको औषध- सेवनद्वारा नष्ट करना चाहिये। शास्त्रज्ञानके प्रभावसे ही ऐसा होना सम्भव है। दुःख पड़नेपर बालकोंकी तरह रोना उचित नहीं है ।।
anityaṁ yauvana-rūpaṁ jīvitaṁ dravya-saṁcayaḥ | ārogyaṁ priya-saṁvāso gṛdhyet tatra na paṇḍitaḥ ||
Sinabi ni Nārada: Ang kabataan at kagandahan ay di nagtatagal; gayundin ang buhay, ang pag-iipon ng yaman, ang kalusugan, at ang pakikisama sa mga minamahal. Kaya ang marunong ay hindi kumakapit sa mga ito. Kapag dumarating ang dalamhati, dapat pawiin ang sakit ng isip sa pamamagitan ng matalinong pagninilay, at ang hirap ng katawan sa pamamagitan ng angkop na gamot at lunas; ang ganitong katatagan ay nagiging posible sa bisa ng pagkaunawa sa mga banal na kasulatan. Hindi nararapat umiyak na parang bata kapag sumapit ang kasawian.
नारद उवाच
All worldly supports—beauty, youth, life, wealth, health, and even the presence of loved ones—are transient; therefore the wise avoid attachment and meet suffering with reflective discernment and appropriate practical measures, grounded in scriptural understanding.
In Śānti Parva’s instruction on peace and right conduct, Nārada delivers counsel that reframes grief: instead of childish lamentation, one should recognize impermanence and respond to mental and physical distress through wisdom, reasoning, and suitable remedies.
