Nāmānirukta of Nārāyaṇa (Keśava–Viṣṇu–Vāsudeva) and the Rudra–Nārāyaṇa Unity Theme
The verse upholds the dharma of learned householders—serving society through priestly sacrifice (yājana) and Vedic teaching (adhyāpana). Such disciplined, socially beneficial work is presented as a legitimate source of prosperity and good reputation when performed as duty.
Bhishma describes a group of dvijas who, after settling into household life, are regularly honored by other twice-born people. They devote themselves to conducting sacrifices for others and teaching, and as a result they become wealthy and well-known.
