Yajña-bhāga-vyavasthā and the Pravṛtti–Nivṛtti Framework (यज्ञभागव्यवस्था तथा प्रवृत्तिनिवृत्तिधर्मविवेचनम्)

विविक्ते पर्वततटे पाराशर्यों महातपा: । वेदानध्यापयामास व्यास: शिष्यान्‌ महामति:

vivikte parvata-taṭe pārāśaryo mahā-tapāḥ | vedān adhyāpayām āsa vyāsaḥ śiṣyān mahā-matiḥ ||

Wika ni Bhīṣma: Sa isang liblib na pook sa gilid ng bundok, si Vyāsa—dakilang asceta, anak ni Parāśara, pantas na may malalim na talino—ay nagtuturo ng mga Veda sa kanyang mga alagad. Ipinapahiwatig ng tagpong ito ang huwarang asal na ang banal na kaalaman ay napangangalagaan at naipapamana sa pamamagitan ng disiplinadong pag-aaral, pag-aayuno at pagtitiis, at ng ugnayang guro–mag-aaral, malayo sa ingay at ligalig ng daigdig.
