Adhyāya 325: Nārada in Śvetadvīpa—Stotra to the Nirguṇa Mahātman

so 'cireṇaiva kālena videhān āsasāda ha | rakṣitān dharmarājena janakena mahātmanā ||

Educational Q&A

The verse underscores a political-ethical ideal: a realm is truly secure when ruled by a dharmic king. Janaka’s designation as “dharmarāja” and “mahātmā” frames protection (rakṣaṇa) of the people as a direct outcome of righteous governance.

Bhishma narrates that the traveler (the subject of “saḥ”) quickly arrives in Videha, a country described as being protected and maintained under King Janaka’s righteous rule.
