Adhyāya 284: Tapas as a Corrective to Household Attachment

Parāśara’s Instruction

येषु पञ्चसु भूतेषु दिशासु विदिशासु च । चन्द्रार्कयोर्मध्यगता ये च चन्द्रार्करश्मिषु

yeṣu pañcasu bhūteṣu diśāsu vidiśāsu ca | candrārkayor madhyagatā ye ca candrārkaraśmiṣu ||

Wika ni Bhishma: Pagpupugay—muli’t muli—sa lahat ng banal na kapangyarihang tagapamahala na lumalaganap sa limang dakilang sangkap, sa mga direksiyon at mga pagitan nitong direksiyon; sa mga nananahan sa pagitan ng Buwan at Araw, at sa mga naroroon sa mga sinag ng Buwan at ng Araw. Ito’y mapitagang pagkilala na ang banal na pagbabantay at kaayusang moral ay umaabot sa kalikasan, sa kalawakan, at sa lahat ng daigdig; kaya dapat kumilos ang tao nang may pagpipigil at kalinisan, yamang walang pook na walang saksi ng kabanalan.
