Adhyāya 284: Tapas as a Corrective to Household Attachment
Parāśara’s Instruction
The verse teaches an all-pervading vision of the Divine: every category of living being—animal, insect, and plant life included—is ultimately grounded in, and not separate from, the Supreme Lord.
In Śānti Parva, Bhīṣma instructs and elevates Yudhiṣṭhira through dharma and spiritual discourse; here he addresses the Supreme Lord in a devotional-philosophical register, affirming that the entire fourfold creation of beings is encompassed by Him.
