Livelihood, Virtuous Association, and Ethics of Giving
अनेन ते महाभाग प्रतिषेधेन भागत: । अतीव दु:खमुत्पन्नं वेपथुश्न ममानघ
anena te mahābhāga pratiṣedhena bhāgataḥ | atīva duḥkham utpannaṃ vepathuś ca mamānagha ||
Wika ni Maheśvara: “O labis na mapalad, dahil sa pagtangging ilaan sa iyo ang nararapat na bahagi, ako’y nilamon ng matinding dalamhati. O walang-dungis, nanginginig ang buo kong katawan dahil sa paghamak na ito.”
महेश्वर उवाच
To deny a worthy being their due share—especially in a sacred context like yajña—is not a minor procedural fault but an ethical wrong that causes deep harm and provokes righteous distress; honor and rightful allotment are integral to dharma.
Maheshvara expresses to the addressed noble figure that the refusal to grant him his proper sacrificial portion has caused overwhelming grief and bodily trembling, framing the denial as an affront with serious moral and emotional consequences.
