Yoga-kṛtya (योककृत्य) — Vyāsa on Sense-Restraint, Obstacles, and Brahman-Realization

The verse highlights the mind’s paradox: it is restless, far-ranging, and prone to yearning and doubt, yet when aligned with consciousness it can master objects and serve as a creative, ordering power—symbolized by the generation of the seven mind-born sages.
Vyāsa describes a luminous creative principle and the mind’s activity: the mind moves in many directions, filled with supplication and doubt, but united with consciousness it overcomes all and gives rise to the seven mānasāḥ (mind-born) sages.
