Adhyāya 222 — ब्रह्मस्थानप्राप्ति: मोक्षधर्मे समत्वव्रतम्
Attaining the Brahman-Station: The Vow of Equanimity in Mokṣadharma
ममता, अहंकार तथा कामनाओंसे शून्य और सब प्रकारके बन्धनोंसे रहित हो आत्मनिष्ठ एवं असंग रहकर मैं प्राणियोंकी उत्पत्ति और विनाशको सदा देखता रहता हूँ ।।
kṛtaprajñasya dāntasya vitṛṣṇasya nirāśiṣaḥ | nāyāso vidyate śakra paśyato lokam avyayam ||
Sinabi ni Prahlāda: “Walang mamatā (pagkapit sa ‘akin’), walang ahaṃkāra (pagkapit sa ‘ako’), at walang pagnanasa; at malaya sa lahat ng gapos. Nakatatag sa Sarili at walang pagkakadikit, lagi kong nasasaksihan ang paglitaw at pagkapawi ng mga nilalang. O Śakra (Indra), para sa taong matatag ang pag-unawa, napasunod ang isip at mga pandama, malaya sa uhaw (pagnanasa) at sa pag-asam ng gantimpala—na nakakakita sa di-nasisirang katotohanang nasa ilalim ng nagbabagong daigdig—walang panloob na pagod o pagdurusa.”
प्रह्माद उवाच
Freedom from suffering comes from steady wisdom and inner mastery: when ego and possessiveness are abandoned, cravings and expectations cease, and one’s vision rests on the imperishable Self, the changing events of the world no longer create mental strain.
Prahlāda addresses Indra (Śakra) and describes the state of a realized, self-controlled person. He explains that such a seer, established in the Self and detached, calmly witnesses the rise and fall of beings and therefore remains untroubled.
