भार्या गच्छन्‌ ब्रह्मचारी ऋतौ भवति वै द्विज: । ऋतवादी भवेन्नित्यं ज्ञाननित्यश्ष यो नर:

bhāryā gacchan brahmacārī ṛtau bhavati vai dvijaḥ | ṛtavādī bhavennityaṃ jñānanityaś ca yo naraḥ ||

Wika ni Bhīṣma: “Ang isang dvija (dalawang ulit na isinilang) na lumalapit sa kanyang asawa lamang sa wastong panahon (ṛtu) ay, sa asal, parang isang brahmacārī. Dapat siyang laging magsabi ng totoo tungkol sa panahong iyon at manatiling matatag sa kaalaman—namumuhay siyang may pagpipigil kahit ginagampanan ang tungkulin sa tahanan.”
