निर्वेदोपदेशः (Nirveda-Upadeśa) — Maṅki’s Dispassion and the Limits of Wealth-Seeking
भुक्तवन्तं च त॑ विप्रं प्रीतात्मानं महातपा: । क्लमापनयनार्थ स पक्षाभ्यामभ्यवीजयत्
bhuktavantaṃ ca taṃ vipraṃ prītātmānaṃ mahātapāḥ | klamāpanayanārthaṃ sa pakṣābhyām abhyavījayat ||
Nang makakain na ang brahmana at mapanatag ang kanyang loob, ang dakilang ibong asceta, upang maalis ang kanyang pagod, ay marahang nagpaypay sa kanya gamit ang mga pakpak nito.
भीष्म उवाच
Austerity and righteousness are validated through compassionate conduct: after feeding a guest, one should also care for their comfort and fatigue. Tapas is shown as gentle service, not mere self-denial.
After the brahmin has eaten and become content, the great ascetic bird fans him with its wings to relieve his tiredness, demonstrating attentive hospitality.
