त्वद्दर्शनात् तु विप्रेन्द्र कृतार्थो 5स्म्यद्य वै द्विज । आवां हि सह यास्याव: श्वो वसस्वाद्य शर्वरीम्
tvaddarśanāt tu viprendra kṛtārtho 'smy adya vai dvija | āvām hi saha yāsyāvaḥ śvo vasasvādya śarvarīm ||
Wika ni Bhīṣma: “O pinakamainam sa mga Brāhmaṇa, sa pagkakita ko sa iyo ngayon ay wari ko’y natupad na ang aking layon. O dalawang-ulit na isinilang, manatili ka rito ngayong gabi; bukas sa pagsikat ng bukang-liwayway, tayong dalawa’y lalakbay na magkasama.”
भीष्म उवाच
The verse highlights dhārmic conduct through reverence and hospitality: meeting a worthy Brāhmaṇa is treated as spiritually fulfilling, and proper care (inviting him to stay the night and traveling together) is presented as ethical, respectful behavior.
Bhīṣma addresses a distinguished Brāhmaṇa, expresses that the meeting has made him feel fulfilled, asks him to stay for the night, and proposes that they depart together the next morning.
