Janamejaya’s Unintended Transgression and the Indrota Rebuke

Educational Q&A

A person of self-mastery should consistently follow the conduct and vocation that accords with their rightful dharma; one’s duties and disposition are understood as aligned with one’s station, and integrity lies in steady adherence to that rightful path.

In Bhishma’s instruction during the Shanti Parva, he addresses his listener with counsel on proper conduct, affirming that it is fitting for a noble, disciplined person to follow the appropriate dharmic course consistently.
