भीष्म उवाच
Sacred narratives, when heard with attention and reverence, are presented as morally purifying—guiding the listener away from wrongdoing and toward dharma.
Bhishma introduces a revered, sin-destroying tale and notes its pedigree: it was previously told by Parashurama (Bhargava) to King Muchukunda, preparing the listener for an instructive exemplum.
