Sandhi–Vigraha in Āpada: The Mouse and the Cat (सन्धिविग्रहापदि—मूषकमार्जारसंवादः)

येअ्स्मान्न प्रतिगृह्लन्ति दस्युभोजनशड्कया । तेषामासज्य गेहेषु कल्य एव स गच्छति

ye ’smān na pratigṛhṇanti dasyubhojanaśaṅkayā | teṣām āsajya geheṣu kalya eva sa gacchati ||

Wika ni Bhīṣma: “Yaong mga ayaw tumanggap ng pagkain mula sa kanyang kamay, sa pangambang iyon ay pagkain mula sa bahay ng magnanakaw—sa kanilang mga bahay siya’y pumupunta nang madaling-araw, tahimik na iniiwan ang mga kailangan at pagkain, saka umaalis.” Itinatampok ng talatang ito ang masusing pag-iingat sa kalinisan ng kabuhayan at ang mahinahong habag na hindi ipinipilit ang handog sa taong may pag-iingat sa budhi.
