Educational Q&A

Unfailing service to father, mother, and guru—especially disciplined service to the guru—is presented as a complete dharmic path that yields success here, merit in the hereafter, and even transcendence of the highest heavenly attainments.

In the Shanti Parva’s instruction section, Bhishma continues advising Yudhishthira on dharma, emphasizing the ethical hierarchy of obligations and the spiritual power of devoted service to one’s parents and teacher.
