रणभूमिवर्णनम् — Devāsuropama-yuddha and the ‘River’ Metaphor of the Battlefield

पाण्डवाश्च महेष्वासा व्यूह्य्‌ सैन्यमरिंदमा:

pāṇḍavāś ca maheṣvāsā vyūhya sainyam ariṃdamāḥ

Sinabi ni Sañjaya: Ang mga Pāṇḍava—mga makapangyarihang mamamana at mga manlulupig ng kaaway—ay inayos ang kanilang hukbo sa pormasyong pandigma, naghahanda nang may disiplinadong paninindigan para sa nalalapit na sagupaan. Ipinahihiwatig ng linya ang bigat na etikal ng digmaan: kahit sa gitna ng karahasan, kaayusan, estratehiya, at pananagutan ang gumagabay sa pagkilos.
