अधर्मेण गदायुद्धे यदहं विनिपातित: । '“ओ कंसके दासके बेटे! मैं जो गदायुद्धमें अधर्मसे मारा गया हूँ, इस कुकृत्यके कारण क्या तुम्हें लज्जा नहीं आती है?
adharmeṇa gadāyuddhe yad ahaṃ vinipātitaḥ |
Wika ni Sañjaya: “Napatumba ako sa labanan ng pamalo (mace-duel) sa paraang di-matuwid. Sa ganitong masamang gawa, wala bang hiya na sumisibol sa iyo?”
संजय उवाच
Even in war, violence is expected to follow agreed rules; victory gained through adharma is morally tainted and invites blame, shame, and ethical accountability.
A speaker (introduced as Sañjaya) voices a reproach: having been brought down in a mace-duel by unfair means, he challenges the opponent’s conscience and questions the absence of shame for the wrongdoing.
