Mace-duel’s intense exchange

ऑपनक्रात बछ। ््ज्टस:

vaiśampāyana uvāca | tato vāgyuddham abhavat tumulaṃ janamejaya | yatra duḥkhānvito rājā dhṛtarāṣṭro 'bravīd idam |

Sinabi ni Vaiśampāyana: Pagkaraan nito, O Janamejaya, sumiklab ang isang mabagsik at magulong digmaan ng mga salita. Nang marinig iyon, nabalot ng matinding dalamhati si Haring Dhṛtarāṣṭra at nagsalita kay Sañjaya nang ganito—sapagkat ang banggaan ng pananalita ay nagbabadya na ng nalalapit na banggaan ng sandata, at ng pagkawasak ng dangal at katarungan na dulot ng matigas na pagmamataas.
