शल्यवधे कौरवसेनाभङ्गः, भीमस्य गदायुद्धं, दुर्योधनस्य समाह्वानम्

दुर्योधनस्तु द्विदमारुह्माचलसंनिभम्‌ । छत्रेण प्रियमाणेन वीज्यमानश्न चामरै:

sañjaya uvāca | duryodhanas tu dvipadam āruhya acalasaṁnibham | chatreṇa priyamāṇena vījyamānaś ca cāmaraiḥ ||

Sinabi ni Sañjaya: Si Duryodhana naman ay sumakay sa isang dambuhalang elepanteng mistulang bundok. Pinarangalan siya ng payong-hari na nakataas sa ibabaw niya, at pinapaypayan ng mga chāmara—mga pamaypay na yari sa buntot ng yak—isang larawan ng pagmamataas at panlabas na karangyaan ng hari, sa gitna ng mabigat at madilim na bigat ng digmaan.
