शल्यस्य पाण्डवसेनापीडनम् — Śalya’s Assault on the Pāṇḍava Host

रथं विशकलीकर्तु समारब्धौ विशाम्पते । राजन! प्रजानाथ! उन दोनों भाइयोंने झुकी हुई गाँठवाले बाणोंद्वारा नकुलके रथके टुकड़े-टुकड़े करनेकी चेष्टा आरम्भ की

rathaṁ viśakalīkartuṁ samārabdhau viśāmpate | rājan prajānātha |

Sinabi ni Sañjaya: O hari, panginoon ng bayan, tagapangalaga ng iyong mga nasasakupan—sinimulan ng dalawang magkapatid na iyon ang pagsisikap na durugin ang karwahe ni Nakula hanggang maging pira-piraso, sa pamamagitan ng pagpapakawala ng mga palasong may baluktot na buhol at kasukasuan upang mabasag ito. Ipinakikita ng tagpong ito ang malupit na katumpakan ng taktika sa digmaan: ang pagpinsala sa sasakyan ng mandirigma ay tuwirang pag-atake sa kanyang kakayahang lumaban at mabuhay.
