अध्याय ९ — दुर्योधनस्य अन्त्यावस्था, विलापः, तथा सौप्तिक-प्रतिवृत्तम्
Duryodhana’s Final Condition, Lamentation, and the Night’s Report
ये वयं न गताः: स्वर्ग त्वां पुरस्कृत्य पार्थिवम् । “मुझको, कृतवर्माको तथा महारथी कृपाचार्यको भी धिक््कार है कि हम आप-जैसे महाराजको आगे करके स्वर्गलोकमें नहीं गये ।।
ye vayaṁ na gatāḥ svargaṁ tvāṁ puraskṛtya pārthivam | dātāraṁ sarvakāmānāṁ rakṣitāraṁ prajāhitam ||
Wika ni Sañjaya: “Kapahi-pahiya kami—na hindi namin narating ang langit na ikaw, O hari, ang nasa unahan namin. Ikaw ang nagbibigay ng lahat ng ninanais na biyaya, at ang tagapagtanggol na nakatuon sa kapakanan ng mga nasasakupan.”
