Rājasūyābhiṣeka-darśana: Duryodhana’s Observation of the Consecration
नियतं त॑ विजेष्यामि कृत्वा तु कपटं विभो । आनयामि समृद्धि तां दिव्यां चोपाह्दयस्व तम्
niyataṃ taṃ vijeṣyāmi kṛtvā tu kapaṭaṃ vibho | ānayāmi samṛddhiṃ tāṃ divyāṃ copāhdayasva tam, prabho ||
Wika ni Duryodhana: “O makapangyarihan, tiyak na tatalunin ko siya sa pamamagitan ng panlilinlang. Dadalhin ko rito ang kanyang maringal, halos makalangit na kasaganaan; kaya, o panginoon, ipatawag mo siya.”
दुर्योधन उवाच
The verse foregrounds adharma through deliberate deceit: Duryodhana openly intends to win not by rightful means but by trickery, showing how greed and envy corrode ethical judgment and set the stage for wider catastrophe.
Duryodhana declares his resolve to defeat Yudhiṣṭhira through a deceptive scheme (the rigged gambling match) and to seize the Pandavas’ extraordinary prosperity; he instructs an associate addressed as “vibhu/prabho” to summon Yudhiṣṭhira to the assembly.
