Samrāt-Lakṣaṇa and the Counsel to Check Jarāsandha (सम्राट्-लक्षणं जरासन्ध-प्रतिबाधा-परामर्शः)
संकर्षणद्वितीयेन ज्ञातिकार्य मया कृतम् । हतौ कंससुनामानौ मया रामेण चाप्युत,तब मैंने आहुककी पुत्री सुतनुका विवाह अक्रूरसे करा दिया और बलरामजीको साथी बनाकर जाति-भाइयोंका कार्य सिद्ध किया। मैंने और बलरामजीने कंस और सुनामाको मार डाला
saṅkarṣaṇa-dvitīyena jñāti-kāryaṃ mayā kṛtam | hatau kaṃsa-sunāmānau mayā rāmeṇa cāpy uta ||
Wika ni Śrī Kṛṣṇa: “Taglay ko si Saṅkarṣaṇa (Balarāma) bilang aking ikalawa, isinagawa ko ang dapat gawin para sa aming mga kaangkan. Napatay sina Kaṃsa at Sunāman—sa aking kamay at gayundin kay Rāma (Balarāma).”
श्रीकृष्ण उवाच
The verse presents decisive action against harmful forces as a legitimate dharmic obligation when undertaken for the protection and welfare of one’s kin and community, and emphasizes shared responsibility by acting together with a trusted ally.
Kṛṣṇa recounts past deeds: accompanied by Saṅkarṣaṇa (Balarāma), he fulfilled a duty owed to his relatives, culminating in the killing of Kaṃsa and another figure named Sunāman, presented as necessary acts to secure the clan’s well-being.
