अवध्यकल्पा निहता नरेन्द्रा- स्तवार्थकामा युधि पाण्डवेयै: । तनन्‍्मा शुचो भारत दिष्टमेतत्‌ पर्याश्वस त्वं न सदास्ति सिद्धि:

Transliteration

sañjaya uvāca |

avadhyakalpā nihatā narendrās tavārthakāmā yudhi pāṇḍaveyaiḥ |

tan mā śuco bhārata diṣṭam etat paryāśvasa tvaṃ na sadāsti siddhiḥ ||

Translation

Wika ni Sanjaya: Ang mga haring wari’y hindi mapapatay, na lumaban upang matupad ang sarili nilang layon, ay napatay sa digmaan ng mga anak ni Pandu. Kaya, O Bharata, huwag kang magdalamhati. Ito’y itinakda ng tadhana; magpakatatag ka, sapagkat ang tagumpay ay hindi dumarating sa lahat sa bawat panahon.
