अध्याय ९ — कर्णस्य प्रहारः, योधयुग्मनियोजनम्, शैनेय-कैकेययोर्युद्धविन्यासः
मामकस्यास्य सैन्यस्य हतोत्सेधस्य संजय । अवशेषं न पश्यामि ककुदे मृदिते सति
māmakasyāsya sainyasya hatotsedhasya sañjaya | avaśeṣaṃ na paśyāmi kakude mṛdite sati ||
Sinabi ni Vaiśampāyana: “O Sañjaya, sa hukbo kong ito—na ang dangal at lakas ay nadurog na—wala na akong nakikitang nalalabi, kapag ang ‘tuktok’ nito ay nayurakan na.”
