स शक्रचापप्रतिमेन धन््वना भूशायतेनाधिरथि: शरान् सृजन् | बभौ रणे दीप्तमरीचिमण्डलो यथांशुमाली परिवेषवांस्तथा
sa śakracāpapratimena dhanvanā bhūśāyatenādhirathiḥ śarān sṛjan | babhau raṇe dīptamarīcimaṇḍalo yathāṃśumālī pariveṣavāṃs tathā ||
Sinabi ni Sañjaya: Taglay ang makapangyarihang busog na kahawig ng bahaghari ni Indra, ang anak ni Adhiratha—si Karṇa—bagaman nakadapa sa lupa ay patuloy na nagpapakawala ng mga ulang-palaso. Sa larangan ng digmaan, siya’y nagningning na parang araw na may bilog na liwanag sa paligid, na wari’y napapalibutan ng naglalagablab na sinag.
