इयेष निर्गन्तुमथो वनाय त॑ वासुदेव: प्रणतो5भ्युवाच
iyeṣa nirgantum atho vanāya taṁ vāsudevaḥ praṇato 'bhyuvāca
Sinabi ni Sañjaya: Nang magpasya siyang umalis patungong gubat, si Vāsudeva—yumukod sa paggalang—ay nagsalita sa kanya. Ang sandaling ito’y isang pagliko ng aral: ang pag-urong at pagtalikod sa daigdig ay hindi sinasalubong ng dahas, kundi ng magalang na payo, na nagpapahiwatig na kahit sa gitna ng krisis, ang tao’y dapat gabayan sa kababaang-loob at wastong pananalita, hindi sa pamimilit.
