अर्जुनस्य शीघ्रप्रयाणं भीम-शकुनियुद्धं च

अपारयन्तो मद्बाणान् सिंहशब्दं मृगा इव । 'जनार्दन! युद्ध करती हुई इस संशप्तक-सेनाके पाँव उखड़ गये हैं। ये संशप्तक महारथी अपने-अपने दलके साथ भागे जा रहे हैं। जैसे मृग सिंहकी गर्जना सुनकर हतोत्साह हो जाते हैं

apārayanto madbāṇān siṃhaśabdaṃ mṛgā iva |
Wika ni Sañjaya: Hindi nila matiis ang aking mga palaso; naging gaya sila ng mga usa sa pagkarinig ng ungol ng leon. Kaya ang hukbong Saṃśaptaka, nayayanig sa labanan, ay nawalan ng tindig at nagsimulang tumakas kasama ang kani-kanilang pangkat—ang mga dakilang mandirigmang karwahe’y umurong nang magulo, nabasag ang loob sa mga hampas na di na nila kayang pasanin.
