अर्जुनस्य शीघ्रप्रयाणं भीम-शकुनियुद्धं च
Arjuna’s Rapid Advance and the Bhīma–Śakuni Encounter
अशोभत महेष्वासो धृष्टद्युम्न: कृतव्रण: । उस समय उनकी आँखें क्रोधसे लाल हो रही थीं। सारे शरीरमें घाव हो रहे थे; अतः वे महाथनुर्धर धृष्टद्युम्न वेगसे जलते हुए अग्निदेवके समान शोभा पा रहे थे ।।

aśobhat maheṣvāso dhṛṣṭadyumnaḥ kṛtavraṇaḥ |
tadā tasya netre krodhena lohitīkṛte babhūvatuḥ |
sarvāṅge vraṇair ācitaḥ sa mahādhanuṣmān dhṛṣṭadyumno vegena jvalann iva hutāśanaḥ śobhāṃ lebhe ||
sa pañcadaśa nārācān śvasataḥ pannagān iva (kṣipat) ||
Wika ni Sañjaya: Si Dhṛṣṭadyumna, ang dakilang mamamana, bagama’t nababalot ng mga sugat ay patuloy na nagningning. Noon, namumula sa galit ang kaniyang mga mata at ang buong katawan niya’y hitik sa mga pinsala; gayunman, sa paglusob niya nang buong bilis, ang makapangyarihang mamamanang iyon ay nagmistulang maningning na apoy na naglalagablab. Pagkaraan, pinakawalan niya ang labinlimang palasong bakal, sumisipol at sumisingasing na parang mga ahas—larawan ng mabangis na paninindigan sa malupit na dharma ng digmaan, kung saan ang pagtitiis at ang galit na napipigil ay nagiging sandata ng tungkulin sa larangan ng labanan.
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights kṣatriya-dharma in its stark form: even when wounded, a warrior must sustain courage and purposeful action. Anger is depicted as a battlefield force, but the emphasis is on steadfastness and directed energy—endurance and resolve in the face of suffering.
Sañjaya describes Dhṛṣṭadyumna in the thick of combat: his eyes redden with anger, his body is covered in wounds, yet he advances with fiery brilliance and shoots fifteen iron arrows that hiss like serpents.
