युधिष्ठिरस्य धनंजय-प्रति गर्हा

Yudhiṣṭhira’s Reproach to Dhanaṃjaya

स राजगृद्धिभी रुद्ध: पाण्डुपाज्चालकेकयै: । नाशकत्‌ तानकिक्रान्तुं मृत्युर्रह्म विदो यथा

sa rājagṛddhibhī ruddhaḥ pāṇḍupāñcālakekayaiḥ | nāśakat tān atikrāntuṁ mṛtyur brahmavido yathā ||

Wika ni Sañjaya: Napalibutan at napigil ng mga mandirigmang nagbabantay sa hari—ang mga Pāṇḍava kasama ang mga Pāñcāla at Kekaya—hindi nakalusot si Karṇa. Kung paanong hindi malalampasan ng Kamatayan ang mga nakakakilala sa Brahman, gayon din si Karṇa, bagaman dakilang bayani, ay hindi nakatawid sa singsing ng pag-iingat na iyon upang sumulong.
