Yudhiṣṭhira’s Reproach to Dhanaṃjaya

Educational Q&A

The verse highlights the battlefield ethic of disciplined action: once a rightful command is issued within the warrior code, hesitation gives way to coordinated effort. Leadership (Bhīma at the front) and obedience to duty drive the collective response, showing how war amplifies resolve and consequences.

Sañjaya reports to Dhṛtarāṣṭra that the Pāṇḍava fighters, with Bhīma leading, immediately charge and attack Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s sons. It marks a surge in the combat as the Pāṇḍavas act upon the king’s order and engage the Kaurava princes directly.
