कर्णभीमसमागमः | Karṇa–Bhīma Encounter
त्वत्कृते पदवीं गन्तुमिच्छेयं युधि मारिष । सोदराणां च वीराणां सर्वेषां च महीक्षिताम्
tvatkṛte padavīṃ gantum iccheyaṃ yudhi māriṣa | sodarāṇāṃ ca vīrāṇāṃ sarveṣāṃ ca mahīkṣitām ||
Wika ni Sañjaya: “Alang-alang sa iyo, O kagalang-galang, nanaisin kong sumuong hanggang sa pinakahangganan sa larangan ng digmaan—maging sa kapalarang dumarating sa sariling mga kapatid, at sa lahat ng mga haring bayani.”
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights the intensity of personal loyalty and willingness to share another’s peril in war, while also evoking the tragic ethical weight of fratricidal conflict where even brothers and many kings meet the same fatal ‘path’ on the battlefield.
Sañjaya speaks to a respected listener, declaring that for the listener’s sake he would be willing to go to the same battlefield destiny that has overtaken (or will overtake) heroic brothers and numerous kings—underscoring the scale of loss and the speaker’s devotion.
