यथा हि कृष्णेन बलं धार्य वै फाल्गुने हते
yathā hi kṛṣṇena balaṃ dhārya vai phālgune hate
Wika ni Sañjaya: “Sapagkat kung paanong ang lakas ay pinananatili ni Kṛṣṇa—tunay nga, kapag si Phālguna (Arjuna) ay napabagsak (o napahina)…”
संजय उवाच
The line underscores the idea that true strength is upheld by Kṛṣṇa’s sustaining presence; even a great warrior’s power is not merely personal prowess but depends on divine support and right alignment.
Sañjaya is describing the battle situation and begins a comparison: as Kṛṣṇa sustains strength, so too in the event that Phālguna (Arjuna) is struck down or brought low—setting up a consequential point in the surrounding narration.
