गदामादाय भीमो<पि हेमपट्टपरिष्कृताम् । अभिदुद्राव वेगेन कृतवर्माणमाहवे,यह देख भीमसेन भी सुवर्णपत्रजटित गदा हाथमें लेकर युद्धस्थलमें बड़े वेगसे कृतवर्मापर टूट पड़े
gadām ādāya bhīmo 'pi hemapaṭṭa-pariṣkṛtām | abhidudrāva vegena kṛtavarmāṇam āhave ||
Sabi ni Sañjaya: Si Bhīma man ay dinampot ang kanyang pamalong pinalamutian ng mga gintong pahalang, at buong bilis na sumugod kay Kṛtavarmā sa larangan ng digmaan.
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights the kshatriya ideal of decisive action and courage in battle, while implicitly reminding the reader that such valor unfolds within the morally weighty setting of a destructive war—where duty to one’s side can intensify violence even among kin and allies.
Sanjaya reports that Bhima, wielding a gold-adorned mace, charges swiftly at Kritavarman in the midst of battle, signaling an imminent close-quarters confrontation.
