गन्धमादनविन्ध्यौ च कृत्वा वंशध्वजौ हर: । पृथ्वीं ससागरवनां रथं कृत्वा तु शड्कर:

Gandhamādana-vindhyau ca kṛtvā vaṁśa-dhvajau Haraḥ | Pṛthvīṁ sa-sāgara-vanāṁ rathaṁ kṛtvā tu Śaṅkaraḥ ||

Sinabi ni Vyāsa: Ginawa ni Hara (Śiva) ang Gandhamādana at ang Vindhya na dalawang haliging pinagtitindigan ng watawat ng kaniyang karwahe; at ginawa ni Śaṅkara ang daigdig—kasama ang mga dagat at kagubatan—na siyang mismong karwahe niya.
