भीष्मशिबिरगमनम् — Duryodhana’s Visit to Bhīṣma’s Camp and the Command Appeal
मातु: समागमो यश्च तत् सर्व प्रत्यवेदयत् । तच्च सर्व यथावृत्तमनुसस्मार पाण्डव:
mātuḥ samāgamo yaś ca tat sarvaṃ pratyavedayat | tac ca sarvaṃ yathāvṛttam anusasmāra pāṇḍavaḥ ||
Sabi ni Sañjaya: Isinalaysay niya nang buo ang pagsasama kay ina at ang lahat ng pangyayaring kaugnay nito. Nang marinig iyon, malinaw at tumpak na naalala ng anak ni Pāṇḍu (Arjuna) kung paano ito naganap. Binibigyang-diin ng talatang ito ang bigat na etikal ng pagsasabi ng totoo at pagkilala sa ugnayang pampamilya, kahit sa gitna ng digmaan.
संजय उवाच
Truthful narration of one’s origin and circumstances (yathāvṛttam) is presented as ethically significant: it enables rightful recognition of relationships and duties, especially in a war setting where identity and obligation matter.
A person (contextually Irāvān in the surrounding prose) recounts to Arjuna the details of his mother’s union with Arjuna; upon hearing the accurate account, Arjuna recollects the events exactly as they occurred.
