भीष्म-युधिष्ठिर-संमर्दः

Bhīṣma’s Pressure on Yudhiṣṭhira; Śikhaṇḍī’s Approach; Evening Withdrawal

रथैर्नगरसंकाशैहयैर्युक्तैर्मनोजवै: । नानावर्णविचित्राभि: पताकाभिरलंकृतै:,उनके रथ नगरोंके समान प्रतीत होते थे। उनमें मनके समान वेगशाली घोड़े जुते हुए थे। नाना प्रकारके रूप-रंगवाली और विचित्र पताकाएँ उन्हें अलंकृत कर रही थीं। ऐसे रथोंपर आरूढ़ सुन्दर धनुष धारण किये विचित्र कवच और ध्वजोंसे सुशोभित उन वीरोंने शत्रुकी सेनामें उसी प्रकार प्रवेश किया, जैसे सिंह एक वनसे दूसरे वनमें प्रवेश करते हैं

rathair nagara-saṅkāśair hayair yuktair mano-javaiḥ | nānā-varṇa-vicitrābhiḥ patākābhir alaṅkṛtaiḥ ||

Wika ni Sañjaya: Ang kanilang mga karwahe ay wari’y mga lungsod na gumagalaw, nakayuko sa mga kabayong kasingbilis ng isip, at pinalamutian ng mga bandilang makukulay at kagila-gilalas. Nakalulan sa gayong mga karwahe—may tangan na magagandang busog, suot ang sari-saring baluti, at kumikislap sa kani-kanilang mga sagisag—ang mga bayani ay sumalakay sa hukbo ng kaaway, gaya ng mga leon na tumatawid mula sa isang gubat tungo sa isa pa.
