Yudhiṣṭhira–Śrutāyu encounter; Cekitāna–Gautama clash; Abhimanyu pressure; Arjuna’s redeployment
mahābalī bhīma me sakhā ca sambandhī ca; te asmākaṃ bhaktāḥ, aham api śatrusūdana-bhīmasya bhaktaḥ. so 'haṃ tatra gamiṣyāmi yatra yāto vṛkodaraḥ; niṣṇantaṃ māṃ ripūn paśya dānavān iva vāsavam.
The verse foregrounds loyalty and kinship as motivating forces in dharmic warfare: devotion here is not ritual bhakti but steadfast allegiance to a righteous ally, expressed through courageous action and readiness to share the same perilous path.
Sañjaya declares his close bond with Bhīma and resolves to follow him wherever he has gone on the battlefield, boasting that he will strike down enemies with the same overwhelming force that Indra used against the Dānavas.
