Abhimanyu’s Assault on Bhīṣma’s Screen; Banner-Felling and Reinforcements (सौभद्र-भीष्म-समरः)

२४ ।। तदित्यनभिसंधाय फलं यज्ञतप:क्रिया: । दानक्रियाश्व विविधा: क्रियन्ते मोक्षकाड्क्षिभि:,तत्‌ अर्थात्‌ “तत” नामसे कहे जानेवाले परमात्माका ही यह सब है--इस भावसे फलको न चाहकर नाना प्रकारकी यज्ञ, तपरूप क्रियाएँ तथा दानरूप क्रियाएँ कल्याणकी इच्छावाले पुरुषोंद्वारा की जाती हैं:

tad ity anabhisaṃdhāya phalaṃ yajña-tapaḥ-kriyāḥ | dāna-kriyāś ca vividhāḥ kriyante mokṣa-kāṅkṣibhiḥ ||

Nang hindi naghahangad ng anumang pansariling gantimpala, ang mga naghahanap ng moksha ay nagsasagawa ng paghahandog at pagtitika, at gumagawa rin ng iba’t ibang uri ng kawanggawa—ginagawa ito sa diwa ng “tat,” bilang pag-aalay sa Kataas-taasang Katotohanan at hindi bilang paraan upang magkamal ng bunga.
