सम्बन्ध-- इस प्रकार भगवान्से अपने अपराधोंके लिये क्षमा-याचना करके अब अर्जुन दो शलोकोमें भगवान्से चतुर्थुजरूपका दर्शन करानेके लिये प्रार्थना करते हैं-- अदृष्टपूर्व हृषितो5स्मि दृष्टवा भयेन च प्रव्यथितं मनो मे । तदेव मे दर्शय देवरूपं॑३ प्रसीद देवेश जगन्निवास
adṛṣṭapūrvaṁ hṛṣito ’smi dṛṣṭvā bhayena ca pravyathitaṁ mano me | tad eva me darśaya devarūpaṁ prasīda deveśa jagannivāsa ||
Sinabi ni Arjuna: “Nang makita ko ang kamangha-manghang anyo Mo na kailanma’y hindi ko pa nasilayan, napuspos ako ng galak; subalit ang aking isip ay nayayanig din ng takot. Kaya’t ipakita Mo sa akin muli ang yaong banal Mong anyo—ang pamilyar na anyong may apat na bisig. Maawa Ka, O Panginoon ng mga diyos, O Tahanan ng sansinukob.”
अजुन उवाच
Even a sincere seeker can be overwhelmed by the majesty of the Absolute; devotion includes the humility to ask for a form and mode of revelation that the mind can bear, and it appeals to divine grace rather than personal entitlement.
After witnessing Krishna’s unprecedented cosmic manifestation, Arjuna experiences mixed emotions—rapture and terror—and asks Krishna to withdraw the overwhelming vision and show again the familiar, reassuring four-armed divine form.
