(Vibhūti-yoga) — Exemplary Manifestations as a Contemplative Index
The verse teaches disciplined preparation for the final moment: withdraw the senses from outward objects, stabilize the mind inwardly (in the heart), and establish the life-breath in a focused, elevated channel, abiding in yogic concentration oriented to the Supreme. It emphasizes mastery of attention and inner control as the ethical-spiritual foundation for a liberated departure.
In the midst of the Kurukṣetra setting, the discourse turns to the yoga of the last moment—how a practitioner should gather the senses and mind, regulate prāṇa, and remain in concentrated remembrance. This verse is part of the instruction on the disciplined inner process that supports attaining the highest goal at death.
