The verse highlights how the outward force of war—noise, speed, and collective charge—can amplify aggression and overwhelm restraint. Ethically, it frames the battlefield as a test of steadiness and right conduct (kṣatriya-dharma) under pressure, where a hero must respond with discipline rather than panic.
A group of warriors (contextually identified in the surrounding passage as Trigarta fighters) surge forward in their chariots. Their chariot-roar and wheel-noise fill all directions as they charge directly at Arjuna (Dhanañjaya).
