कुन्त्याः वनगमननिश्चयः — Kuntī’s Resolve to Depart for the Forest

नदीतीरेषु रम्येषु सर:सु च विशाम्पते । वासान्‌ कृत्वा क्रमेणाथ जम्मुस्ते कुरुपुड्वा:,प्रजानाथ! वे कुरुश्रेष्ठ वीर नदियोंके रमणीय तटों तथा अनेक सरोवरोंपर पड़ाव डालते हुए क्रमश: आगे बढ़ते गये

vaiśampāyana uvāca |

nadītīreṣu ramyeṣu saraḥsu ca viśāmpate |

vāsān kṛtvā krameṇātha jagmustе kuru-puṅgavāḥ prajānātha ||

Sinabi ni Vaiśampāyana: O panginoon ng mga tao, yaong mga pangunahing Kuru ay nagtatag ng mga pahingahan sa pagkakasunod-sunod sa magagandang pampang ng mga ilog at sa tabi ng maraming lawa, at nagpatuloy nang dahan-dahan, hakbang-hakbang. Ipinahihiwatig ng taludtod ang isang disiplinado at maayos na paglalakbay—nagpapahinga sa mga pook na payapa at mapalad, at sumusulong nang walang pagmamadali, ayon sa pagpipigil at kagandahang-asal na inaasahan sa mga nakatatanda sa yugto ng pagpasok sa gubat.
